ALPHA LONGBOARDS SHAPING PROCESS

For many of Alpha's clients it involves a sit down with the client to access the clients unique ablilities and needs besides our standard shapes on catalogue.

Drawing out the shape
The shape of the board to be shaped is drawn out on the laminated blank.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cutting out the shape
The shape is then cut out, as the picture shows.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sanding the board
The board is then sanded to the desired shape.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drilling the holes.
We then drill the holes for the truck mountings. An important step in the shaping process. If drilled skew,the board's not a pleasure to skate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sanding the board
The board is the hand-sanded and fine finishing work is done. This is the elbow-grease section of shaping,but also my favourite part. I get to really "feel" the shaping process.

Then boards ready for waterproofing.
